The focus of the workshop is to prepare A.R.E. candidates for the General Structures and Lateral
Forces portions of the exam by relating fundamental principles of
structural engineering through problem solving and discussion of real life
examples. The workshop is also designed to be a refresher course for licensed
architects to give them more confidence in their daily practice.
Who should attend the workshop:
Architectural Candidates preparing to take the A.R.E. General Structures
and Lateral Forces exams.
Practicing architects and
interns who desire a refresher course in structures.
Goals of the Workshop:
- Prepare Architectural
Candidates for the General Structures and Lateral Forces Exam by using
the instructors experience and education in architecture and structural
engineering.
- Relate
the fundamental principles of structural engineering through problem
solving and discussion of real life examples where these items are
encountered.
This refresher course in structures
should give the attendee greater confidence and more tools for their daily practice.
Attendees are very positive about this course. Mr.
Garrett recently sent this comment, "I
took your course in Chicago
(Oak Brook) in March, and I just got back my results and I passed both
structural sections of the test on my first try, in large part to your class
and the material you presented. Thank you for providing such a seminar for
those taking the ARE. I do not think I would have done as well had I
not taken your course. "
