Attic Performance Project

The aim of the Attic Performance Project is to measure the heat and moisture performance of common light-frame attic and wall assemblies, and to use that information to improve building practice.  The project contains the parts listed below:

• Investigating the origins of building practice
• Measuring air exchange in vented and unvented building cavities
• Developing techniques for measuring moisture content and air movement
• Monitoring hygrothermal building performance

Developing new guidelines, standards and building codes.
